Is P2PINR Safe or Fake? How It Works and the Real Risks
Published 23 October 2026
If you searched "is P2PINR safe or fake", it's good that you're checking before you send money anywhere. Crypto scams are common in India, and fake apps often copy the names of real ones. This guide gives you a straight answer. It shows how P2PINR protects each order, and it lists the risks that stay with you on any platform.
We won't just ask you to trust us. We'll show you how things work so you can decide for yourself.
Is P2PINR safe or fake? The short answer
P2PINR is a real peer-to-peer (P2P) platform at p2pinr.in. You can use it to:
- Buy USDT with INR. You place an order, pay a verified merchant by UPI or bank transfer, and get USDT in your P2PINR wallet.
- Sell USDT for INR. You sell USDT and a verified merchant pays you INR by UPI or bank transfer.
- Pay UPI QR codes from your USDT balance. With Scan & Pay, you scan any UPI QR code and pay it in INR from your USDT.
So what does "safe" honestly mean here? It means the platform is built so neither side can simply run off with the money. Every order uses escrow, merchants are verified, and every order has a way to raise a dispute.
It does not mean nothing can go wrong. Every platform carries some risk, whether it's P2P or a big exchange. Some risks, like sending USDT on the wrong network, are in your own hands. We cover them honestly below.
First, make sure you are really on P2PINR
Many "this app is fake" stories start with a fake copy of a real site. Before anything else, check these:
- Type p2pinr.in yourself. Check the spelling letter by letter. Don't open P2PINR from links in WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS or social media messages you weren't expecting.
- Never share your codes. Our team will never ask for your 2FA code, sign-in code or recovery codes. Anyone who asks for them is not us.
- Never pay outside an order. Every payment to a merchant should happen inside an order in the app, for the exact amount shown there. If someone offers you a "better rate" for paying them directly, treat it as a red flag.
- Get help only through the platform. Use the Help & FAQ page or "Get help" in the app. Be careful with "support agents" who message you first.
How escrow protects every order
Escrow is the main thing that makes a P2P trade on P2PINR different from sending money to a stranger.
Here's how it works. When a merchant accepts an order, the seller's USDT is locked. It is released only after the payment is confirmed. While the order is open, the seller can't move that USDT anywhere else. The buyer only receives it once the INR payment has been confirmed.
Two time rules keep orders moving:
- The 7-minute window. When you buy, you have 7 minutes to pay the merchant. When you sell, the merchant pays within 7 minutes. Scan & Pay orders are paid within 7 minutes.
- The 3-minute auto-end. If no merchant accepts your order within 3 minutes, it ends by itself and nothing is lost. When you're buying, you haven't paid anything yet. When you're selling or using Scan & Pay, your USDT goes back to your balance.
At busy times, all merchants may be occupied. If your order isn't accepted, try again after some time. A smaller amount is often accepted faster.
Buying USDT, step by step
- Open Buy and enter the amount.
- A merchant accepts your order and you see where to pay.
- Pay the exact INR amount within 7 minutes, from a bank or UPI account in your own name.
- Upload the payment screenshot and tap "I have paid".
- The merchant checks the payment and your USDT is credited.
You can read more on the Buy USDT page.
Selling USDT, step by step
- Open Sell, enter the amount and choose where you want the INR (UPI or bank).
- A merchant accepts and pays you, usually within 7 minutes. Your USDT stays locked in escrow while this happens.
- Open your bank or UPI app. Only when the full amount has arrived, tap "Confirm and release USDT" on the order.
Scan & Pay, step by step
- Open Scan & Pay and scan the shop's UPI QR code.
- Enter the INR amount. The USDT for it is taken from your balance.
- A merchant pays the shop for you, usually within 7 minutes.
- Ask the shop if they got the money, then confirm on the order.
Verified merchants
On P2PINR you don't trade with random strangers. Merchants are verified, and they are ranked on how reliably they trade. A merchant who completes orders smoothly ranks better than one who doesn't.
Being verified doesn't mean nothing can ever go wrong. Mistakes and disagreements can still happen, so escrow and disputes are there as a backup. The next section explains them.
If something goes wrong: which button to press
Disputes are handled on the order page, one per order, not through a separate ticket. Either side can raise a dispute, and the P2PINR team reviews it and decides. What matters most is pressing the right button at the right time.
| Situation | What to do on the order |
|---|---|
| You bought and paid, but the merchant hasn't confirmed in time | Tap "Escalate — I have paid". Our team checks your payment. Nothing is released while it's being reviewed. |
| The order was cancelled after you paid | Open the order and tap "Report a problem". |
| You're selling, the merchant says "paid", but the money isn't in your account | Don't confirm. Tap "Problem with this order?". Your USDT stays locked while our team checks. |
| Scan & Pay: the shop says it didn't get the money | Tap "Shop didn't get it — hold my USDT". Your USDT stays locked while our team checks. |
Act quickly when you're selling
This one is easy to miss. When a merchant marks a sell order as paid, the order completes by itself 7 minutes later if you do nothing. So if the money hasn't reached your account, raise the problem on the order before those 7 minutes are up.
Keep your proof ready, such as the payment screenshot and the UPI or bank reference number. It helps the team check things faster.
KYC and limits, said plainly
You can start buying USDT on P2PINR without KYC, within small limits. Completing KYC (identity verification) raises those limits. KYC is still a normal part of P2PINR: it decides how much you can buy, and some situations need it.
| Without KYC | With KYC | |
|---|---|---|
| Buying: amount per order | 1 – 15 USDT | 1 – 30 USDT |
| Buying: orders per day | 2 | 3 |
| Buying: orders per month | 15 | 30 |
| Selling + Scan & Pay: amount per order | 1 – 200 USDT | 1 – 200 USDT |
| Selling + Scan & Pay: orders per day / month | No limit | No limit |
Selling and Scan & Pay share one limit, so their orders are counted together.
How KYC works on P2PINR
- Open Verification in the app.
- Choose your ID (Voter ID).
- Take a clear photo of the ID, then do the short live face check (a selfie).
- Our team reviews it. This can take up to 24 hours.
You can try up to 2 times a day. Use good light and keep the whole ID in the frame.
KYC also matters in two other cases. If buying is paused because you paid from a bank account in someone else's name, completing KYC turns buying back on by itself. And your account name can't be changed by hand, not even by our team. Once your KYC is approved, your account name updates to the name on your ID.
Ways to raise your buy limit
- Complete KYC. Verified accounts get higher buy limits.
- Use a Buying stake. Go to Menu → Buying stake and pick a tier. Each tier shows its per-order and daily buy limits. Your limits stay higher while the tier's amount is locked. After the lock period, you can release it back to your balance.
- Keep buying. As your completed buys add up, your per-order limit rises by itself.
Your current limits are shown on the Buying stake page under "Your buy limits now".
Fees are shown before you pay
Hidden charges are a common worry with crypto apps. P2PINR's fees are simple, and any fee is shown in the order before you pay.
| Action | Below 10 USDT | 10 USDT or more |
|---|---|---|
| Buying USDT | 0.10 USDT | Free |
| Selling USDT | 0.10 USDT | Free |
| Scan & Pay | 0.10 USDT | Free |
| Withdrawal (minimum 10.00 USDT) | 0.70 USDT | 0.70 USDT |
About rates, P2PINR's own claim is: "Live buying rate, lower than typical P2P rates." Rates move, so always check the rate and the final INR amount in the order before you pay. The full details are on the Fees & rates page.
Protect your own account
The platform protects orders. You protect your login. A few habits make a big difference:
- Turn on 2FA in Settings → Security.
- Keep your recovery codes offline. Write them on paper and keep it somewhere safe. Don't save them as a screenshot in your gallery or in a chat. If you lose your 2FA phone, use a recovery code or write to us through Help.
- Secure your email too. Withdrawals are confirmed with a code we email you, so someone who gets into your email is a risk. Use a strong password and 2FA on your email account.
- One order at a time. You can only have one order in progress at a time, so it's always clear which payment belongs to which order.
- Account changes are confirmed with you. To change your email or phone number, write to us. We confirm every change with you first.
Risks that stay with you
An honest safety guide has to say this part clearly. These risks are in your hands, on P2PINR or anywhere else.
1. Sending USDT on the wrong network
USDT exists on several blockchains. P2PINR accepts deposits only on BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20). BEP-20 is the token standard used on BNB Smart Chain. USDT sent on another network (TRC-20, ERC-20, Polygon and others), or any other token, can be lost for good. On the exchange or wallet you're sending from, always choose BEP-20 / BNB Smart Chain.
2. Depositing too little
The minimum deposit is 3.00 USDT. Smaller amounts are not credited and can't be refunded. Deposits are credited automatically after 15 network confirmations, usually within 15 minutes and at most 20. If a deposit isn't in your list after 20 minutes, write to us with the transaction hash (TxID). You can also look the hash up yourself on BscScan.
3. A wrong withdrawal address
To withdraw, you paste a USDT address on BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20). A wrong address can't be reversed. Check it twice. Also make sure the receiving exchange or wallet accepts USDT on BEP-20. Withdrawals are usually processed within 1 hour. Once a withdrawal shows "Completed" with a transaction hash, it is on the blockchain.
4. Confirming a sale on a screenshot
Screenshots can be edited. When you sell, confirm only after the money actually shows in your bank or UPI app. A screenshot from the other side isn't enough.
5. Paying from someone else's account
When you buy, always pay from a bank or UPI account in your own name. Payments from another person's account can pause your buying and cause problems with your bank. Our guide on lowering bank freeze risk when trading USDT P2P explains good habits.
6. Scams outside the platform
Most P2P losses happen outside the order flow: fake support agents, "pay me directly" deals, and schemes that promise fixed returns. P2PINR can only protect what happens inside an order. Don't move a deal to private chat.
7. Price and tax
USDT is designed to track the US dollar, but its value in INR can still change. Tax applies too. As of October 2026, India taxes income from transferring crypto (virtual digital assets) at a flat 30% plus cess, and a 1% TDS can apply on transfers above certain limits. You can find official information on the Income Tax Department website. Tax rules change and depend on your situation, so check with a tax professional.
Summary: what P2PINR does, what it doesn't promise, and what you control
What P2PINR does to protect orders:

- Using the real p2pinr.in and never sharing your codes.
- Paying only inside an order, from your own account.
- Confirming sales only when the money is really in your account.
- Choosing BEP-20 for deposits and checking withdrawal addresses twice.
- Pressing the right dispute button in time.
